Indie Meme honors Iranian-Afghan ‘Seven and a Half’

The Indie Meme Film Festival in the US honors Iranian-Afghan movie ‘Seven and a Half’.

The Indie Meme Film Festival (IMFF) in the US has honored Iranian-Afghan movie ‘Seven and a Half’.

Made by Navid Mahmoudi, the movie won an honorable mention at the narrative feature category of the 6th edition of the IMFF.

‘Seven and a Half’ narrates the story of seven Iranian and Afghan girls who are about to get married on a Friday night.

The film follows the girls’ challenges before they tie the knot.

Neda Jabraeeli, Shadi Mokhtari, Atieh Javid, Hasti Mahdavifar, Mohammad-Reza Ghaffari, Anahita Afshar, Alireza Kamalinejad, Fereshteh Hosseini, Hossein Mehri, Roya Javidnia, Hanieh Qasemi, Afsaneh Kamali, and Matin Heydarinia are some of the cast members.

The flick has attended a number of international events, including the Persian Film Festival in Australia, the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, the Barcelona Asian Film Festival in Spain, and the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

‘Seven and a Half’ is available on some Iranian Video-on-Demand (VoD) platforms.

The IMFF is celebrating excellent cinema, according to the event’s website.

The 6th edition of the IMFF was held on April 16-18 and April 23-25, 2021.
